Production and Drying
Treatment of FRX® wood is performed at properly equipped and supervised treatment plants in strict accordance with industry standards. Following treatment, FRX wood is re-dried to a moisture content of 19% or less for lumber and 15% or less for plywood in accordance with Appendix H of the AWPA Use Category System and past AWPA standards C20 for lumber and C27 for plywood. Drying after treatment is required to comply with the model building codes.
Comprehensive QC programs, conducted by third-party agencies, provide assurance that both the FRX fire retardant chemical and FRX wood are consistently produced to meet performance standards dictated by the model building codes.
